PostHeaderIcon How much do tennis courts cost to build?

Any type. I’m just curious because I might want to get some built when I’m older because I’m getting inheritance.
My tennis coach says $20,000. Is that right?
Like 1 tennis court I mean.
P A, I have more inheritance than just $20,000. I already went over my plan to build tennis courts with my Grandparents. They’re ok with it.
Thanks for your concern though!
I also understand that it is hard to sell a house with a tennis court in the back yard, and that I should just live in a neighborhood with tennis courts.

yes thats about right for a hard court, but the price coud be a little higher or lower depending on where you go. a clay court would be cheaper around 15,000 but they cost much more to maintain. the type of hard court you choose (asphalt, concrete, reboundace, etc) also affects the price

PostHeaderIcon If you were given the chance to design and construct a tennis court in an extreme place…?

… where would you build it? Why did you choose that place?

What are the playing conditions? Would you still consider it playable?

Finally, which two players (male or female) would you like to play the first exhibition match to try out your court? Why?

Hmm, on a volcano, and I would like to see Serena Williams and John Mcenroe. By the way, the volcano is ACTIVE :D

PostHeaderIcon tennis backboard; how to build one.?

I don,t have a tennis court but i do have an expanse of concrete. How can i build a backboard to
practise on?

i actually have one in my driveway. my dad build it for me

he attached two thin pieces of wood side by side and has wood running across the back to support them. At first, he made the base (The bottom of the board is two feet off the ground) out of PVC (?) pipe, but it wasn’t very stable, so he rebuilt it with wood.
I know my instructions are vague. I didn’t make it. But, you should be able to make it with spare amounts of wood and creativity. You shouldn’t have to spend that much money.

Just a few tips.

I think the smaller the better. Mine is only about 4-5 feet wide and not too high. If it is smaller, you’ll have to chase the balls more because you will miss more often, but you will improve your accuracy.

And remember, it is loud. You will annoy your neighbors if you do it too often, so save it for when nobody is home (if you’re a kid, summer vacation is perfect).

PostHeaderIcon does anbody know how to build a cheap but good tennis court?

A "driveway" court is indeed cheap, but not good at all! If you’re serious about making a tennis court I would go with either an asphalt or concrete based hard court or a clay court. If you live in the United States, chances are a hard court will be much cheaper in the long run, as harsh winter climates make clay courts difficult and expensive to maintain.
It’s best to hire a professional to come in and pave your area. After that’s done, you’ll have to surface your court with some kind of acrylic coating. Shop around– there are some cheap options. Here’s a few off the web http://www.novasports.com/tennisx.htm

PostHeaderIcon where can I find out how to build my own tennis court?

First place to start is your local building inspectors to see if you are allowed to have one on your property. (also check with your Home Owners Assoc. if you have one)

Here is a great link to get you started.

PostHeaderIcon How much does it cost to build an indoor 4-court tennis facility?

How much would it cost for an indoor 4-court tennis facility including court construction, heating/AC/insulation?

One court is usually about $40k, so a 4-court facility with all the extras will probably cost you $200k, approximately.

PostHeaderIcon How much would it cost to build a three court tennis complex?

Nothing too big, just three courts (a few feet apart) and a surrounding fence? This is hard court, not clay.

it takes about 20,000 to build one court give or take the color like the us open aqua marine or the regular so i would say about 60,000 for the courts and extra for the fence and the labor maybe…. that’s a hard question though but i think i got the sum about right

PostHeaderIcon About how much does it cost to build a tennis court on a residential lot?

If you dont want any places to sit or anything fancy. Just paint the lines in and set up a net. You can play on grass, concrete, almost anything, as long as its relitivly flat. get some chalk or some paint and do the meauring. You could have your own court anywhere (as long as you have a net).

PostHeaderIcon How much will it cost me to build a tennis court? Roughly?

Want 2 build 1 just wonder what sort of price i looking at.
MAny thanks

Depends what country you’re in.
What surface you want.

A tournament surface would be alot of money, probably 10,000 or more.
A good quality tennis centre surface would probably be over 4,000 but that seems affordable.
A park like court could be relatively cheaper, but you’re best off with getting a good quality court, or maybe even a professional type surface?
