Cheap Home Tennis Court?
Okay, I live on ten acres of land. I have a gigantic back yard, probably 250 x 45 feet, alot of space, and i want to build a tennis court. Is a lawn court cheap? hardcourt? asphalt? Help
Check out these types of surfaces:

They aren’t a standard surface, but they are supposed to be very durable and low maintenance. I have no idea what the cost would be, or how they play. But they are options.
Other than that, you’d have to contact a specialized company, like this one:

You can’t just lay down a concrete slab and call it a tennis court. It won’t make a good playing surface, and won’t last too well. Real courts are made of several layers of special mixes. It’s probably best to leave the job to professionals.
From asking around, it seems that you can expect to put down 15-30k for a single court setup. Start calling some court companies, and get some estimates. If you want it done right, there really is no cheap way.
How much does it cost to have a tennis court built in a yard??
I’ve heard something like $20,000 but that’s just a ball park. Obviously it will depend on where you are having it built.
How much money does it cost to build one simple tennis court?
I’m looking to go to my local homeowner’s association and propose the idea of building a tennis court in the neighborhood park. I need a ballpark estimate of the cost to build a simple tennis court (just one) with no lighting, just fencing, and the court itself. If anyone has sources I’d appreciate it.
Looks like the basic asphalt court starts at about $40,000 to $45,000, with the average price probably in the mid $50s to low $60s. Check out links below. Good luck

I am a serious tennis player, and I am looking to build a tennis court in my backyard.?
Does anyone know the needed dimensions to build a court, and how much it would cost to build. Also , if you know of any companies that install tennis courts that would be great.
This depends on your budget, naturally. I don’t know where you live so I can’t tell you about the companies. Most are local or are national companies with local contractors doing the installation.
Clay courts are not that expensive to put in but the upkeep every year (several thousand dollars to prepare courts for play each year)can get costly.
Grass courts (my favorite) vary in cost depending on how flat and even the existing surface is now and the type of drainage you will need. The upkeep and mowing is very expensive and weekly during the playing season. Grass season is shorter in the north and may not be an option in winter.
Hardcourts are can run around $40k to $50k depending on the contractors you find and need little maintenance outside of cleaning the surface of leaves and debris.
Flexcourts are becoming popular for residential applications ($10k and up) because they can be put down over existing cement slabs and offer multisport surfacing. Expense depends on the surface you have already.
You can google the court installers in your area of the world to see what they charge for the court of your choice.
Caution: the REAL cost of owning and maintaining a tennis court are the fences, lights, benches, landscaping and other facilities you may also want to add. Unless you live on many acres, it is realistic to put up fences to stop balls from straying too far. Then, the lights… Many towns have ordinances that may stop you from putting up high fences and court lights…
Good luck!
In my opinion, a Flex court may be a good option.
What should I do to get a tennis court built in my neighborhood even though i have tried three times?
My neighborhood has the money to get a tennis court built and they are also not spending their money on anything useful.
WHAT SHOULD I DO?
The best possible choice would be to begin a petition to have the court built. Also, you could appeal to the city or town council and go to one of the council meetings. You’ll have to explain why it would be beneficial to the city/town to build the court. It’s a wonderful thing to want this court built, but if it’s the community’s money, you’ll have to convince them that everyone else will benefit from and be able to enjoy the tennis court. Good luck!
